Geraldine "Gerri" E. Leum

Geraldine “Gerri” Elizabeth Ann (Engelcke) (Schrader) Leum, 79, of La Crosse and formerly of Coon Valley, took the hand of Jesus and was ushered into heaven on Thursday, April 13, 2023.   In Gerri fashion—she very courageously fought cancer with everything she had!

Gerri is survived by her husband of 41+ years, Larry Leum; son, Larry P (Jennifer) Schrader; daughter, Lori (Dominic) Schrader Fedie; sister, MaryAnn (Engelcke) Angel, step daughter, Brenda (Leum) Fernandes of Indiana; step son, Brandon (Sheri) Leum also of Indiana. Gerri is also survived by her 12 treasured grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as her niece, Pauline (Angell) Watters. All of us are beyond blessed that she shared her life and herself with us! Now we will never run short of special memories!!

Gerri worked at First Federal for MANY years!!

And as you know, she was an amazing cook, loved to read, stamp, shop, and travel.

Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Clara Engelcke.  In addition, Gerri’s maternal and paternal grandparents, her in laws, two brothers in law, one sister-in-law, a great grandchild, a step son, and several aunts and uncles also welcomed her to her heavenly home.

One last “shout out” that Gerri wanted known… Hospice Ladies, your compassion and over-all help and guidance means so much more than you’ll ever know. Our family would like to thank the ENTIRE Hospice team!

Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday April 20, 2023 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
