Barbara A. Black

Barbara A. Black, 55 of Coon Valley passed away Tuesday April 6, 2010 surrounded by her loving family at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse. She was born February 15, 1955 in Boscobel to John and Betty (Kidd) Parshall. Barb graduated from Boscobel High School in 1973. She married Steve Black on June 26, 1976 in Boscobel.

Survivors include her husband Steve; one son Brandon (Lili) Black of Coon Valley; her parents John and Betty Parshall of Coon Valley; 6 siblings Cindy (Robert) U'ren of Fennimore, Nancy (Russ) Cornford of Coon Valley, Mark (Kathy) Parshall of Westby, Janet (David) Olmstead of Viroqua, John (Shelly) Parshall of Bangor and Lisa Parshall of Buffalo, N.Y.; her father-in-law Robert Black of Shullsburg, IL; 2 brothers-in-law Timothy (Diana) Black of Shullsburg, IL and Randall Black (Scott) of California; sister-in-law Pam (Gary) Swiggert of Shullsburg, IL and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Bessie and Richard Kidd and John and Daisy Parshall and mother-in-law Lenore Black.

Barb will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Coon Valley. Rev. Wayne Kidd will officiate with burial at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.
