Bergetta J. Jorgenson

Bergetta J. Jorgenson, 89, of Coon Valley died Saturday January 9, 2016 at her home. She was born May 23, 1926 in Vernon County to Thomas and Rikka (Nesset) Johnson. Bergetta was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. She attended Nerison School and graduated from Westby High School. Bergetta married Leonard Jorgenson on May 27, 1950 in Coon Valley. The couple lived in the same house on School Street all their married life where they raised 3 sons. Leonard died September 17, 2011. Bergetta was an active member of the Coon Valley Lutheran Church, WELCA and Naomi Circle. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, visiting with friends, rummage sales and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include 3 sons, Roderick (Connie) of Madison, Scott of rural Westby and Steve (Sandy) of rural Chaseburg; 3 grandchildren, Lucas Jorgenson of Minneapolis, Cody Jorgenson of Milwaukee and Sara Moser of North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard; 3 sisters, Ruth (Adolph) Koula, Inez (Raymond) Lee and Helen (Bill) Spriggs and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Milton "Tony" and Ruth Jorgenson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday January 16, 2016 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Mitzi Miyamoto will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to the Coon Valley Lutheran Church or the charity of choice.
