Calvin L. "Kelly" Hanson

Calvin L."Kelly" Hanson, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Coon Valley on Sunday morning October 26, 2014.

He was born to Charles and Hattie Hanson on January, 3 1928 in Vernon County. He was the youngest of nine children. On May, 20 1950 he married the love of his life, Imogene Perkins. They were blessed with two daughters - Deanna (Don) Parish of Bangor, Laurie (Wayne) Johnson of Westby, six grandchildren, Kristi McClintock (Shawn Balastracci), Amanda Siam (Brian), Tyler, Shane, Brett and Carissa Gabrielson, three great grandchildren, Kendal, Raven and Jacoby, four step-grandchildren, Jeremy(Libby) Parish, Brenda Bethke, and Jeremy and Elise Johnson, 6 step-great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Emily, Alex and Kassie Parish, Tony and Brandon Bethke, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings - Peter, Hilda, Irene, Thelma, Marcus, Ted, Ida and Dorothy.


Calvin graduated from Cashton High School in 1946. He retired from Gateway Transportation in La Crosse after 29 years. He was a devoted husband of 64 years and a beloved father and grandfather. Calvin was compassionate and caring to all who knew him and he will be dearly missed. He now resides with his Heavenly Father in whom he had great faith.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday October 30, 2014 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Private burial will be in the Coon Valley Lutheran Cemetery. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family.
