Cathy Jo Theige

Cathy Jo Theige, 62, of La Crosse and formerly of Westby, was called to her heavenly home Friday March 27, 2015 at Gundersen Health System with family and friends by her side. She was born August 23, 1952 to Art and Rena (Williams) Theige. Cathy was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby. She graduated from Westby High School and attended WWTC in La Crosse. Cathy worked at St. Francis Nursing Home in La Crosse for many years.

Survivors include her mother, Rena Theige of Coon Valley; 3 brothers, Bruce and Monte of Boyd and Barry of La Crosse; 2 sisters, Lynne (Marty) Stenslien of Westby and Nancy Forde of Augusta; a great aunt, Doris (Rueben) Johnson; many nieces and nephews who were very special to her and special friends, Linda Downs and Steve, Joanne and Philip Humfeld. She was preceded in death by her father, Art in 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday March 31, 2015 at the Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby. Rev. Dan and Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family. Online condolences may be offered at selandsfuneralhome.com.
