Darryl D. Kocimski

Darryl D. Kocimski, 53 of La Crosse and formerly of Coon Valley, died Monday January 29, 2024 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born June 3, 1970 to David and Cheryl (Oyer) Kocimski in La Crosse. He graduated from Westby High School in 1989. Darryl enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Nimitz where he served as a cook. He worked at Main Street Ingredients in La Crosse for many years. Darryl enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. He had a quick wit and great sense of humor – giving nicknames to most everyone he knew.

Survivors include his sisters, Joanne Kocimski of Holmen and Teresa Kocimski of La Crosse; a nephew, Ronald (Danica) Kocimski of Holmen and great nieces and nephews, Mason, Grayson, Amelia and Eleanor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother David.

A special thank you to the staff at Aptiv that helped Darryl live independently, especially his fellow Navy veteran Dan Pierce and former Aptiv staff member and guardian Samantha Buedding.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday February 1, 2024 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. Military honors to follow. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in La Crosse. Memorials to the family are preferred. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
