David R. Galstad, 42, of La Crosse and formerly of Coon Valley, died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest on Saturday April 28, 2018 at Gundersen Health System. He was born April 5, 1976 to Richard and Gloria (Myhre) Galstad in La Crosse.
David graduated from Westby High School in 1994 and then went on to receive an associate’s degree in radio broadcasting in Madison. He worked as a radio personality at Viroqua and Ladysmith radio stations for 2 years. He has then employed by Great Lakes Cheese and First Supply in La Crosse.
David was married to Annette Haugen on October 21, 2000 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomah. He was a movie buff and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Annette, 3 children, Emily, Collin and Jonathan; his mother Gloria Galstad of Coon Valley; a sister Barbara (James) Williams of Coon Rapids, MN; his father and mother-in-law Stephen and Mary Haugen of Tomah and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard in 2008 and his sister Melissa in 1979.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday May 4, 2018 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Mitzi Miyamoto will officiate with burial in the Westby Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 until service time. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family. Memorials to the family are preferred.
