Delores P. Hastings

Delores P. Hastings, 95, formerly of Genoa, passed away peacefully Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse. She was born December 28, 1917 in La Crosse to Emil and Tina (Michel) Steinke. Delores married Alvin Hastings on March 25, 1936 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Alvin died in 1972. She married Elza Davis on March 30, 1974. He died in 1980. She then married Ernest Schnell on January 27, 1983 and he also preceded her in death. Delores was a person of many talents. She was an avid painter, an excellent seamstress, made wedding cakes and was a hairdresser. She enjoyed music and dancing, gardening, traveling and spending many winters in Texas.

Survivors include 3 children, Jerry (LaVonne) Hastings of Chaseburg, Margie Dennison of La Crosse and Judy (Bernie) McClellan of Genoa and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by 2 sons Dan and Carl Hastings; 2 grandchildren Kelly Gathke and Bernie McClellan; 2 sisters Lorraine Jackens and Jeanette Gaustad and 1 brother Harold Steinke.
