Edward T. Peterson, 93, of Stoddard, Wisconsin passed away peacefully with his family by his side Friday morning March 21 at Vernon Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 15, 1931 on the home farm Highway 56, Genoa. The youngest of four children, he grew up helping on the farm and in his free time played baseball. He attended school through the eighth grade at Plainview School. He married the love of his life, Bonnie J. Sordahl on August 1, 1953 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. In 1959 they purchased their farm on Oak Ridge, Stoddard, naming it Bon-Ed's Birchlawn Farm. He was very proud of his registered Holstein cattle. It was here he raised his family with a strong work ethic putting faith and family first and he lived there his entire life.
Edward enjoyed going to auctions, bus trips, playing cards, dancing and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a loving husband, Dad and Grandpa who will be greatly missed.
Edward is survived by his two daughters; Julie (Michael) Noth of Chaseburg and Jane Mueller (Carrol Henkes Jr.) of Centennial Colorado, one son; Brian Peterson of Stoddard, six grandchildren; Kadie (Brandon) Brueggen, Kale (Krista) Proksch, Jenna (Peter) Starmer, Whitney Martin, Jake Mueller and Geoff (Nicole) Lenser, and 12 great grandchildren; Kennedy, Beckett, Dylan, Jade, Daniel, Bodie, Hunter, Jorgen, Henry, Sylvie, Hayden and Nora, and a special niece Linda Peterson. He is further survived by his two brothers-in-law; Myron (Harriet) Sordahl and Maynard (Kay) Sordahl and one sister-in-law; Karlene Sordahl.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Bonnie, in March 2022, his son-in-law, Daniel Mueller 1994, his grandson, Korey Proksch 2001, two brothers, Thorwald (Jean) Peterson, Amos (Thelma) Peterson and one sister, Verna (Gordon) Harris.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27th 11:00am at Lower Coon Valley Lutheran Church, rural Stoddard with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30am until service time. The family requests memorials be given to Lower Coon Valley Lutheran Church, Samaritan's Purse or charity of donor's choice. The Seland Funeral Home is assisting the family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the second-floor staff at Vernon Memorial Hospital, especially to Dr. Michael Loebertman for his compassion and kindness.
