Elder A. Carson, Jr.

Elder Allan Carson, Jr, 71, of Chaseburg, Wisconsin died Friday, May 4, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Elder George and Hazel (Klinski) Carson on January 19, 1947.

He graduated from Westby High School in 1965. He married the love of his life Dianne Kay Galstad on August 24, 1968 at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chaseburg, Wisconsin.

Elder was employed at the La Crosse Cooler Company from 1967 to 1985 while working the family farm. He transitioned to farming full time in 1985 and retired in 2017. He was extremely proud of his heritage and being a steward of the Carson farm. Elder was an avid hunter and trapper and loved his family, the outdoors, his horses and watching westerns.

Survivors include his wife Dianne; children Alicia (Wayne) Nagy of Onalaska, Wisconsin; Elder John Carson (Steve Bonoff) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Rebecca Carson of Chaseburg, Wisconsin, Susan (Travis) Haggard of Sahuarita, Arizona; 4 grandsons: Cody, Connor and Carson Nagy, Riley Haggard; sister Sandra (Michael) Dolan of Akron, Ohio and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Caroline Bjerkos and brother-in-law Robert Bjerkos. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday May 10, 2018 at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg with a visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Rev. Steven Oldre will officiate.  Memorials to the family are preferred.
