Eric J. Hagen, 54, formerly of Chaseburg, passed away suddenly at his assisted living home in La Crosse on Monday, January 24, 2022. He was born November 7, 1967 to Donald and Angeline Hagen of Chaseburg. When Eric was 23 years old, he was involved in a motorcycle accident that would forever change his life. Being in a wheelchair was challenging for him, his family and the care providers trying to help him in his everyday life. Eric was always so thankful and loved spending time with his family during the holidays, where there was plenty of good food, laughs and certainly enough Diet Dew! He always said thank you for someone picking him up and taking him back home. May Eric forever “Rest in Peace”.
Eric is survived by his only son Tanner (Emily) and grandchildren, Ava, Liam and Scarlett of Arizona; four brothers, Jim (Julie) Hagen, Wayne (Pat) Hagen, Rick (Nancy) Hagen, Chris (Diane) Hagen; three sisters, Diane (David) Stellner, Bev (Harland) Reschke and Nancy (Doug) Bean; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Steve.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday January 29, 2022 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. A prayer service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Meg Eiben Hoversten officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date in the Middle Coon Valley Church Cemetery. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
