Garnet C. Sandwick, 98, of Stoddard, passed away Tuesday January 7, 2025, at her daughter’s home with family by her side. She was born September 25, 1926, to Admiral Shelly and Ellen (Stilwell) Dennison. Garnet attended grade school at Riverside School and graduated from Lansing High School in 1945. Garnet worked a few years at the Autolite Co. in La Crosse. She met the love of her life, LaVerne Sandwick, at the Concordia Hall. They were married on February 14, 1950. Garnet and LaVerne were married 73 years until his passing in 2023.
Survivors include her children, Cindy (Fred) Levendoski and Jim (Debbie) Sandwick; son-in-law, Terry Fosdal; sisters-in-law, Hazel Gouwens and Shirley Sandvick; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Iris Sandvick and brother-in-law, Ray Sandvick; 4 grandchildren, Terry Levendoski, Ellen (Steve) House, Justin (Mischa) Sandwick and Kara Fosdal; 4 great grandchildren, Macey (Noah) Barry, Emilia and Levi Sandwick and Ryan House and many nieces and nephews.
Garnet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LaVerne; sister Doris (Lyle) Larson; brother William Dennison; daughter, Cathy Fosdal and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday January 13, 2025, at the Stoddard Community Methodist Church. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Rev. Ethan Larson will officiate with burial in the Stoddard Cemetery. The Seland Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family. Visit selandsfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence.
