George E. Faber age 76, of Coon Valley passed away May 13, 2013 at his home.
George was born on December 5, 1936 in Ithaca Township, the son of Michael A. and Anna L. (Schlafer) Faber. He grew up in Jaquish Hollow; he graduated from Ithaca High School in 1955. He was well liked, had several close friends and many admired his highly developed intelligence...
Later in life, he pursued his love of music and received his Bachelors of Arts Degree from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.
George enjoyed playing the piano with his mother and as an accomplished musician, he played a variety of instruments; the clarinet was one of his favorites. He also enjoyed nature, when not working alongside his father on the farm, he often would be in the woods listening to birds, watching the forest animals or just sitting on a stump carving flutes from wood.
He enjoyed listening to classical music, watching TV, and visiting with close friend Donna Ihle and her family. He was deeply spiritual and spent many hours reading the Bible.
Although, caring family lost contact with George, he was always loved, often thought of, and will never be forgotten.
His sister Inez Regina, twin's boy and girl, his parents Michael A. and Anna L. (Schlafer) Faber, precede him in death.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 at 7:00pm at the St. Mary's Keyesville Cemetery, 32605 Durst Lane, Richland Center, WI with Rev. Greg Peach officiating. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family. Online condolences at selandsfuneralhome.com.
