Glen H. Stalsberg

Glen H. Stalsberg, 74, of Westby died Saturday October 5, 2013 at his home. He was born February 28, 1939 in Viroqua to Orrin and Lilah (Buros) Stalsberg. He was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member at Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church in Westby. Glen graduated from Westby High School in 1957. On September 18, 1965 he married Madeline Olson in Black River Falls. The couple farmed near Westby for many years. Glen also worked at Trane Co. for several years and more recently he enjoyed his 6 years working on the grounds crew at the Snowflake Ski & Golf Club. Glen was an elder and trustee at the Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church and a member of the Westby Historical Society. Glen could strike up a conversation with anybody and enjoyed visiting and spending time with family and friends. He also liked to golf, fish and hunt.

Survivors include his wife Madeline; a daughter Miriam (Kelly) Bailey of Janesville; 2 sons Aaron (Traci) of Pulaski and Matthew (Kristine) of Rosemount, Minn.; 9 grandchildren Katelyn, Rachel and Bethany Bailey, Daniel and Lydia Stalsberg and Jonah, Mikayla, Joshua and Madelyn Stalsberg; a sister Margaret (Herbert) Garlick of Westby and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Irene McDonald; 2 brothers Leonard and James and a nephew Richard A. Garlick in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday October 9, 2013 at the Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church in Westby. Rev. Paul Tjelta will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at Bethesda church on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm and Wednesday also at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to Door of Hope or Vernon Memorial Hospice.
