Gregory Lee Grosskopf, 69, of Westby, lost his hard-fought battle with various health complications at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Greg fought to the very end, never believing his hard-working days were over.
He was born on September 1, 1954, in LaCrosse to the late Calvin and Iris (Olson) Grosskopf. He graduated from Hazel Green High School. He married Karen DeFlorian on October 15, 1988 at Middle Coon Valley Church. Greg’s passion for construction led him to start his own business that he proudly operated for over 30 years. He retired from the construction business in 2021 and took on a part-time job at Tractor Supply, never wanting to sit still.
His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He also loved hunting, word searches, and quality time with family. One of his favorite things to do was to help in the go-kart pits with his grandson Gunner and son Terry. Greg was a talented craftsman and mechanic and always eager to assist those he loved, leaving family with one-of-a-kind keepsakes.
Greg is survived by his wife Karen; children Terry (Tanya) DeFlorian, Jason (Tara) Hoff, and Jenny (Brett) Wallace; grandchildren Gunner and Beta DeFlorian, Ben, Wyatt, Owen, and Ella Wallace; step-grandchildren Kenzie, Lyssa, and Logan; siblings Steve (Rhonda) Grosskopf, Cindy Steele, Carrie Grosskopf, and Kim (Charlie) Nelson.
He will be welcomed into his forever home by his parents Cal and Iris Grosskopf, sister Nancy King, brother Kevin Grosskopf, and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be 4-7pm on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley, with a private family burial service on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
We know he’s finally at peace, and we will miss him dearly, but we will remember him always through all our hard work - which he made look so easy. WE LOVE YOU!
We would like to thank the Gundersen Health System staff and St. Croix hospice for their excellent care.
