Greg Haugen, 41, of Chaseburg, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, his Savior on February 6th after suffering a heart attack. He was born August 2, 1976, adopted by James and Elaine Haugen and grew up in Bemidji, MN. He married Marie Schlichting on March 27, 1999. Together they had three beautiful daughters, Martha (16), Genevieve (14), and Brigitta (11).
Greg’s greatest passion in life was his family. He became an at home dad and cherished his little girls above all else. He was also a talented woodworker and was self-employed as a wood turner. He sold his works at craft shows and galleries. He was a member of the Coulee Region Woodturners and the American Association of Woodturners. He was a member of the Chaseburg Soleburner Committee and loved to support his daughters’ activities such as 4H, FCCLA, FFA, and Wild West Royalty. He always shared his love and support to everyone around him and this legacy will continue on as he was also a tissue donor.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Marie and daughters, Martha, Genevieve, and Brigitta of Chaseburg; mother, Elaine of Granger, IA; sister, Christy of Des Moines, IA; mother and father-in-law, Marvin and Irene Schlichting of Royalton, MN; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his father James Haugen.
