Hazel M. Carson, 89, of Chaseburg, died Saturday August 3, 2013 at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse. She was born August 24, 1923 in Caledonia, Minnesota to Emil and Molly (Schultz) Klinski. She married Elder Carson Sr. on September 12, 1945 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Union Township, Houston, Minnesota . She was a long time member of Hamburg St. Peter's Lutheran Church, ruralChaseburg.
Hazel loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She enjoyed her flower gardens, baking, cooking and was well known for her delicious cinnamon rolls.
Survivors include her son Elder (Dianne) Carson Jr. of Chaseburg; one daughter Sandra (Michael) Dolan of Akron, Ohio; 8 grandchildren, Alicia (Wayne) Nagy of Onalaska, Elder J. Carson of Minneapolis, Minn., Rebecca Carson of Chaseburg, Susan (Travis) Haggard of La Crosse, Christopher Dolan of Auburn, Wash., Anne (Stephen) Wenner of Akron, Ohio, Brenda Pascoe of Gilbert, Ariz., and Ryan Bjerkos of Westby; 6 great grandchildren Cody, Connor and Carson Nagy, Riley Haggard, Ellie and Emma Wenner; and a son-in-law Robert Bjerkos of Westby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elder Sr. in 1980; a daughter Caroline Bjerkos in 2006; one granddaughter; one brother Raymond Klinski and one sister Alice Shauble.
Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. Friday August 9, 2013 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. Rev. Steven Oldre will officiate with burial in Hamburg Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.
