Hilda M. Gilbeck

Hilda M. Gilbeck, 97, of Coon Valley died peacefully Friday evening March 25, 2022 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua.  She was born November 1, 1924 to Gustav and Hanna (Halderson) Becker in Barre Mills, Wisconsin. She married Raymond Gilbeck on June 9, 1951.  She was a lifetime member of Skogdalen Lutheran Church, WELCA and Skogdalen Quilters and also a lifetime member of Coulee Track N Trails Snowmobile Club. She liked to do needlework and was an excellent embroiderer.

Hilda is survived by two sons, Raymond Solberg and Gary (Terry) Gilbeck; a grandson, Chad Gilbeck and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Solberg; five brothers, Willis, Elmer, Donald, Ervin and Sylvester.

The family would like to thank the staff at Vernon Memorial Hospital and the caregivers at Vernon Acres Assisted Living.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday March 30, 2022 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley with a prayer service at 6 p.m. with a luncheon to follow. Rev. John Dumke will officiate.  Private burial will be in the Skogdalen Lutheran Church Cemetery. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
