Inez T. Myhre

Inez T. Myhre, 92, of rural Westby, died Sunday August 20, 2017 at Vernon Manor in Viroqua. She was born November 19, 1924 to Olius and Gunda (Engh) Role on Pumpkin Ridge in Coon Township, Vernon County. Inez was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Esofea. She attended Brown School. Inez married Eli Myhre on February 22, 1947 at the Bethany Lutheran Parsonage in Viroqua. The couple lived in Coon Valley for a few years and then moved to the Myhre home farm in Jefferson Township. In 1959 they moved to Springville. When Eli retired in 1983, they built a home on their land near Esofea. Inez was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was well known for her lefse and Norwegian treats. Inez loved to have coffee and visit and spend time with her family and friends.

Survivors include 5 children, Gary of Burlington, Mary (Bill) Mahan of Westby, Brian of Viroqua, Julie (Richard) Gaboric of Centerburg, OH and Kevin (Krissa) of Viroqua; 13 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; special niece, Arlene Davidson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eli; son, Daniel; 2 sisters, Evelyn Paulsrud and Alida Skaaland and 4 brothers, Edgar, Obert, Herman and Palmer Role.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday August 23, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Esofea. Rev. Pete Beckstrand will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to Bethany Lutheran Church.
