James "Jim" M. Malin

James “Jim” M. Malin of rural La Crosse, died Monday December 21, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was born December 27, 1964 to Mark and Lorraine (Servais) Malin in La Crosse. Jim graduated from West Salem High School in 1983.

Over the years, Jim’s interests have included horses, snowmobiling, motorcycles and traveling. Most recently, his focus has been on farming and driving for Nickelotti Trucking.

The family would like to thank all of those who visited Jim in the last few weeks. Friends of old and friends of new.  Family that was near or family that was far.  All of your conversations and time spent with Jim made an impression on him and us as a family.  While Jim always tried to fly under the radar, he had an incredibly big heart and was loved by all.  This was shown by the number of visitors that came to the house, phone calls and vehicles in the car parade.  It was great to see Jim wave or give a thumbs up.  The smile on his face as he watched the parade was priceless.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Lorraine (Servais) Malin; siblings Loree (Leo) Nickelotti and Jane Malin (Gary Trofka) nieces and nephews; Lanae Nickelotti (Matt Batzel), Lorenzo (Kelly) Nickelotti, Emily Trofka and Jacob Trofka and great niece and nephews; Reuden Batzel; Logan, Winnie, and Luke Nickelotti.

The family would also like to thank Jason and Krissy of Gundersen Hospice for all the love and kindness you showed Jim.  You helped make Jim’s journey more comfortable.
