Janet D. Moilien

Janet D. Moilien, 81, of La Crosse and formerly of Coon Valley died Sunday October 5, 2014 Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born September 3, 1933 in La Crosse to Lloyd and Mabel (Hanson) Mahlum. Janet was baptized and confirmed at the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church. She married Clarence Moilien on April 15, 1961 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in La Crosse. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2007. Janet worked at Trane Co. and Click Distributing in La Crosse for many years.

Janet was an active member of the Coon Valley Lutheran Church, WELCA and North Ridge Circle and was also the Baptism Medallion coordinator for many years. She was a regular attendee of the Conversations with Coffee at the Knutson Library in Coon Valley, enjoyed antiques and collectables and her cat Chablis.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Schauf (Bill Carver) of Bloomington, Minn.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter and her sister Marilyn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday October 9, 2014 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Mitzi Miyamoto will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time.
