John D. Collins

John D. Collins, 67 of rural Viroqua, died Friday June 7, 2024 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born October 9, 1956 to Charles and Alva (Amann) Collins in La Crosse. John was confirmed at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. He graduated from Westby High School in 1974. John farmed the home farm with his parents until 1999. He drove truck for Proksch Trucking and then worked at Nelson Global in Viroqua for several years. John enjoyed working on cars, shooting clay pigeons, fishing and raising Beagles. 

 Survivors include a daughter, Anna (Matt) Sacia and a son, John Collins both of La Crosse; a brother, Tom (Florence) Collins of Viroqua and several nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diane (Jack) Jacobson.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday June 17, 2024 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
