Katherine "Kathy" M. Ratwik

Katherine "Kathy" M. Ratwik, 63, of Coon Valley died Thursday May 6, 2010 at her home. She was born February 22, 1947 to Edwin and Dorothy (Meek) Hansen in La Crosse. Kathy graduated from Caledonia High School in 1965 and later from WWTC in La Crosse for accounting. On October 21, 1978 she married Richard Ratwik. The couple lived in various places before settling in Oshkosh. Following Richard's death in 2004, Kathy moved to Coon Valley to be closer to family. She enjoyed playing cards, going to casinos and spending time with family. She was a member of the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church.

Kathy had a very caring heart, loved a good joke, to laugh and give hugs. She was frugal with her own needs but was always generous with others and her many charities.

Survivors include 9 siblings Susan (Jeff) Raatz of Rothschild, WI, Dorie (Duane) Bell and Christine Olson both of La Crosse, Samuel (Robyn) Hansen of Stoddard, James (Darla) Hansen of Westby, John (Dawn) Hansen of Reedsburg, Julie (Tracy) Ehde of McGregor, IA, Michael (Michelle) Hansen and Patrick Hansen both of La Crosse; a special godchild Julia Elizabeth Bell and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Richard Hansen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday May 10, 2010 at the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church, rural Chaseburg. Rev. Dan Wollman will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church.
