Kora J. Schlicht

Kora Jean Schlicht, 57, of Chaseburg died on February 17, 2025. She was born January 8,1968. Kora was baptized at Lower Coon Valley Lutheran Church. She attended Westby Schools through 12th grade. Kora held many jobs but her passion was in home childcare. She enjoyed her many nieces and nephews, watching them grow up. In her later years, Kora’s grandson John became the light of her life. Besides watching kids, she enjoyed macrame’ and crocheting, especially blankets for all the babies born to family and friends. Kora’s friends were very important to her, almost family. She was part of the “Wolf Pack” and loved spending time camping or having a big bonfire.

Survivors include her son Joseph (Renee) Bakkestuen, grandson John; mother Yvonne Bakkestuen; siblings Ronda Schlicht (Veronica), Roxane (Paul) Moe, Karen (Paul) Spaeth, Raymond Jr. (Lisa) Schlicht, Robert (Amy) Schlicht, half-brother Rodney Schlicht (Trina) and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Schlicht Sr., grandparents, and many relatives.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday February 22, 2025 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Visit selandsfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence.
