Larry A. Rundhaugen

Larry A. Rundhaugen, 50, of Westby, died Thursday August 5, 2010 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. He was born August 3, 1960 to Alton and Joyce (Anderson) Rundhaugen in Viroqua. Larry was baptized, confirmed and a life long member at Skogdalen Lutheran Church. He graduated from Westby High School in 1978. He later joined the U.S. Army National Guard 32nd Division. Larry was a self-employed carpenter in the area for many years. In 1980 he married Marsha Oliver and they were later divorced. He met the love of his life, Denise Genardo, in 2001 and they were married in December of 2008.

He was a member of the Coon Valley Conservation Club and the Westby Rod and Gun Club where he enjoyed the Saturday night card drawing. Larry loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, cooking and grilling out, gambling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Denise of Westby; a son Jason (Tiffany) of Coon Valley, stepchildren Danielle and Greg Hansen both of Onalaska; 7 grandchildren Brody and Kinley, Dakota, Makendra, Dominick, Tyana and Teryn; his parents Alton and Joyce Rundhaugen of Coon Valley; a sister Carol (Mark) Beckerjeck of La Crosse; an aunt Erma Graupe and an uncle Marvin Anderson; many cousins and friends and his beloved dogs Max and Jake.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Clarence and Esther (Brown) Anderson and his paternal grandparents John and Lydia (Johnson) Rundhaugen and a step son Terrence Maines Hansen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday August 10, 2010 at Skogdalen Lutheran Church, rural Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Gundersen Lutheran for the excellent compassion and care given to Larry and his family.
