Marvin J. Heller

Marvin J. Heller, 76, of Sparta and formerly of Chaseburg, died Monday December 23, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Sparta.  He was born December 22, 1943 in La Crosse to Oscar and Ernestine (Leske) Heller.  Marv married Joan Johnson on July 31, 1965 at Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church.  He farmed for many years and also worked at the Chaseburg Co-op followed by Laidlaw Bus Co. – retiring in 2005.  In his younger years he played softball for This Old House in Chaseburg.  Marv was a member of the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church.  He was a former member of the Chaseburg Lions and Snowtrailers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Packers and playing cards.  Marv loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; 3 children, Lisa (Tom Pederson) Bergum of Sparta, Tom (Svala) Heller of Chaseburg, and Jennifer Kolve of Rockland; 11 grandchildren, Zach, Dylan, Birna, Jacob, Abby, Nicole, Alyssa, Hannah, Erica, TJ and Nicholas; 5 great grandchildren, Avant, Maeson, Preston, Max and Grayson; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Robert and John and a nephew, Michael.

Private services were held with family. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family.
