Nancy Jean Moilien

Nancy Jean Moilien, 82 of rural Westby, died Monday January 16, 2017 at Vernon Manor in Viroqua where she had been a resident the past 2 years. She was born July 7, 1934 in La Crosse to Clarence and Nancy (Melvin) Ringquist. Nancy was baptized at the Salzer Memorial Church and confirmed at the Wesley United Methodist Church in La Crosse. She graduated from Central High School in 1952. Nancy married Paul Moilien on March 31, 1956 at the Wesley United Methodist Church. The couple farmed their married life in Spring Coulee. Paul died on April 22, 2011. Nancy also worked for a short time at the Trane Company in La Crosse. She was a member of the Coon Valley Lutheran Church where she served as the first woman on the church council. She was also a former Sunday school teacher and was active in the Ruth Circle and WELCA. Nancy enjoyed reading, cooking and baking and spending time with her grandsons.

Survivors include 3 sons, Robert, Richard (Pat) and Ronald; 2 grandsons, Hunter and Darik all of rural Westby; a sister, Joyce (Reed) Horle of Bella Vista, Arkansas; a brother John (Betty) Ringquist of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a sister-in-law Maren (Allen) Thomack of Clarksville, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, daughter-in-law, Crystal Linse-Moilien and a step sister June Simonson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday January 20, 2017 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Mitzi Miyamoto will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to the Coon Valley Lutheran Church.
