Orville M. Lehrke

Orville M. Lehrke, 90, of

f Chaseburg, died Tursday November 5, 2009 at his home. He was born May 16, 1919 to Arthur and Emma (Kuester) Lehrke in Hamburg Township, Vernon County. His mother died in 1921 and his father then married Esther Schuster in 1934. Orville was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. Orville married Clara Myhre on October 3, 1942 in Coon Valley. The couple farmed in the Chaseburg area until retiring to Chaseburg in 1986. He loved to go fishing and work in his garden.

Survivors include 2 sons Marvin (Marcy) and Danny both of Chaseburg; 1 daughter Patricia (Theodore) Johnson of Onalaska; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Mary Myhre and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Clara on January 3, 1998.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday November 9, 2009 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. Rev. Steven Oldre will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family.
