Paul R. Schultz, Jr., 84, of Chaseburg, died Saturday September 16, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. He was born November 26, 1932 to Paul C. and Sadie (Hagen) Schultz. Paul was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. He married Connie Student on February 20, 1952 at St. Peter's. The couple farmed their entire lives near Chaseburg. Besides milking, crops and raising tobacco, he helped Clarence Urbanek dehorning cattle and later did a lot of custom work. Paul was a 45 year member of the Coon Valley Lions Club and past member of the Chaseburg Farmer's Union and Chaseburg Snowtrailers Club. He hunted in Montana for many years and especially enjoyed having his grandson Jon go with him. Health problems in 2006 slowed him down with neuropathy, but he still kept busy driving tractor and trucks. Paul enjoyed coffee at Tippy Toe Inn every morning with his friends.

Survivors include 2 sons, Richard (Jeanne) of Chaseburg and Ronald (Dayna) of Coon Valley; his pride and joy 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, Jon (Melissa) Schultz and their children Mikayla and Jackson of Bettendorf, Iowa, David (Erika) Schultz and their children Sawyer and Sutton of Westby and Becky (Ben) Eitland and their children Brooklyn and Bailey of Onalaska; a sister Corrine (Ron) Kapanke of Waukesha and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connie in 2012; 2 brothers and their wives, Alvin and Beatrice and Gerald and Marilyn; his father and mother-in-law, Willard and Maybelle DeRoucher; a sister-in-law Colleen Anderson and brother-in-law Don Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday September 20, 2017 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. Rev. Steven Oldre will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family.
