Ralph P. Pedretti

Ralph P. Pedretti, 78, of Westby, died Wednesday December 12, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Tomah. He was born July 9, 1934 to Paul and Cecelia (Penchi) Pedretti in La Crosse. He was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa. Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 8, 1954 and was honorably discharged January 26, 1956. On October 3, 1959 he was united in marriage to Sandra Howell. They were blessed with 8 children and one stillbirth. After retiring from farming, the couple moved to Westby. He was a very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Viroqua. Ralph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years Sandra, 8 children Andrew of Chaseburg, Sonja Pedretti of Florida and her son Christopher (Heidi) Madsen and grandson Dashal Madsen, daughter Margery (Norris) Haakenstad of Westby and their daughter Ashley, son Greg (Samantha) of Westby and their children Emily, Mariah, Keri, Klay and Jett, son Gary (Lori) of Viroqua and their daughter Alaina, son Robert (Tanya) of Westby and their daughters Payton and Isabella and son Michael of Westby; a sister Mary (Jim) Klum of Chaseburg and 3 brothers Gerald of Chaseburg, Charles (Carol) of Naples, Florida and Paul of Genoa and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Allan from a tractor accident, a son Michael in infancy, a grandson Joshua Madsen and 2 brothers Ronald and Edward.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday December 18, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Viroqua. Monsignor Francis Abuah Quansah will officiate with burial in Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of mass.
