Richard "Rick" E. Green

Richard “Rick” E. Green, 66, of Coon Valley, died Friday May 21, 2021 at his home. He was born December 29, 1954 in Danville, IL to Franklin and Patricia (Risher) Green.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1974 and served for 20 years, retiring as a Petty Officer First Class – Interior Communications Electrician. Rick married Jody Granke on June 14, 1980 in Perth Amboy, N.J. The couple has lived in Coon Valley the past 20 years and Rick worked as a Dept. of Defense Police Officer at Ft. McCoy, retiring in 2016. Rick also was a member of the Coon Creek Fire Fighting Association serving as captain and first responder.

Survivors include his wife, Jody; son Bryan Green both of Coon Valley; a daughter, Carol (Andy) Hampton of Alma and a grandson, Dexten Lomas-Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pam.

Military honors by the Coon Valley American Legion Post #116 will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday June 3 at the Coon Valley American Legion Hall followed by a visitation and food from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Coon Creek Fire Fighting Association.  The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family.
