Roger L. Kuester

Roger Lester Kuester, 85, of Chaseburg, WI, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024 after losing his fight with Parkinson’s disease. He was born April 15, 1939 to Lester and Edna (Lenser) Kuester. He was raised on the family farm in Chaseburg and graduated from Westby High School in 1957.

After high school, he married and moved to Kenosha where he worked for American Motors. He moved back to the Chaseburg area eventually buying a farm on the ridge. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and worked for multiple companies as a truck driver including Briggs and Roadway from which he retired after 23 years. He retired from farming, moved to the town of Chaseburg spending time walking the paths and being a regular at Tippy Toe for lunch and breakfast after church.

Roger enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially the annual family and Cousins reunions. He loved attending Olerud auctions with Kevin, buying cameras and many other items to fill up the buses at the farm. Both were collecters/hoarders. He liked Harley rides with his kids, nice cars, attending the La Crosse Speedway races. He looked forward to deer hunting with the Gehrke family and bear hunting up north with Mike Edwards. He listened to country music and was in love with singer, Terri Clark. Of course, he was a Green Bay Packer fan.

He was a lifetime member of the Chaseburg Rod & Gun and served as President for many years. He enjoyed singing in the choir at St Peter’s Lutheran Church and was a member of the Chaseburg Lions Club/Friends of Chaseburg.

Roger is survived by his children, Brian (Sondra) Kuester, Sara (Scott Bjerkos) Skau, Dustin (Katrina) Kuester, daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Kuester, his grandchildren, BJ, Ashley, Payge, Logan, Ethan, Gracie and 4 great grandchildren, his sister, Kay (Dale) Nelson and brothers, Ses (Linda) Kuester, Dennis Kuester and his very special friend, Barb.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Kevin Kuester and Craig DeFlorian, grandson, Shayne Martell, and his parents, Lester and Edna.
