Roger K. Spensley, 62, of Stoddard, died Saturday August 28, 2010. He was born November 7, 1947 to John and Zella (White) Spensley in Cuba City, Wisconsin. He graduated from Darlington High School. Roger married Diane Stellner on December 3, 1982 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. He worked for the Ironworkers Local 383 of Madison for over 35 years, retiring in 2009. Roger was a devoted Packer fan and loved watching westerns and creating gadgets out of steel. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; 3 sisters Nancy Spensley of Dubuque, Iowa, Karen (Robert) Smith of Gays Mills and Sally (Tom) Fosler of DeForest; his father-in-law Richard Stellner and Bette of La Farge; his mother-in-law Delores Miller of La Crosse; one brother-in-law David (Diane) Stellner of Coon Valley; 3 sisters-in-law Cindy Stellner of Gays Mills, Cathy (Al) Sagler of Viroqua, and Lisa Simonson of La Crosse and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers in infancy and a brother-in-law Duane Stellner.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday September 1, 2010 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. with Pastor Gary Daines officiating.
