Ronald Alan Miller, age 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Ron will forever be remembered for his love of family, his great humility, his kind and playful nature, and a compassionate heart.
Born January 9, 1957, in Bloomington, Minnesota, Ron was the loved son of the late John and Florence (Meyer) Miller. He was the fifth of their 6 children. He was baptized at Bloomington Lutheran Church and then confirmed at St. Matthews, Appleton, Wisconsin. He attended Lutheran grade schools in southern Wisconsin.
He returned to Minnesota and then attended St. Croix Lutheran High School in West St. Paul, Minnesota, where he enjoyed football and basketball he graduated in 1976.
After high school graduation, Ron enlisted in the Army and following boot camp was stationed at Fort Ord, Monterey Bay, California in the military police battalion.
Upon his Army discharge in 1980 Ron pursued a career as a security specialist at Sims Security. He was then a food service manager at several national franchises. In 2001 he moved to Rochester, Minnesota and started a career at Wal-Mart. He worked as a department manager before retiring after a 20-year career. After moving to La Crosse, Wisconsin he worked briefly for Kwik Trip before starting at Xcel Energy where he worked from home as a PR representative.
He met the love of his life, Sandra Oldre, while in high school. They later married in 2001. Ron is survived by his loving wife Sandra (Oldre), sons, Matthew Miller Joshua (Alisha) Miller, grandson, Gabriel Wyatt, brother, Jim (Lois) Miller, sisters, Lynde (Darrell) Sorensen, Vicki (Marcus) Hagen, Rita (Dennis) Daugherty and Marilyn (Kirk) Hellweg as well as many loved nieces and nephews, in-laws, and numerous friends who will remember him for his generosity, humor, and unwavering dedication to his faith and family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Ron was an avid Minnesota sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins with his family and friends. He liked to enjoy the outdoors while fishing, grilling, and spending time with family and friends.
Ron was an active member of his church community, dedicating countless hours to service and fellowship. He was known for his compassionate spirit, always willing to lend a hand or offer a kind word to those in need. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he lived his beliefs through actions.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held at 11am on Friday, May 2, 2025, at:

where friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of a remarkable man who touched so many lives. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Luther High School, American Cancer Society, Or the Disabled American Veterans, reflecting Ron's lifelong commitment to helping others.
