Ronald J. Osweiler, 87, of La Crosse, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021. The angels escorted him to his heavenly home. He is at peace. Ron was born September 12, 1933 in La Crosse to Raymond and Valeria (Sobzak) Osweiler. He was the fourth of five children. Ron was a man of great dedication to his Roman Catholic faith, holding his dear Lord as the priority in his life. Attending daily Mass throughout his life was a routine he embraced as a gift. Upon graduating from La Crosse Aquinas High School, he served his country in the United States Navy .for two years. Upon returning home he spent the next 35 years delivering mail on the Northside of La Crosse. The people on his route became his family and he had memories to share with each address. After Ron's retirement from the Postal Service he was able to spend his leisure time doing what he loved to do, playing poker. There were many friends made and many enjoyable hours of card playing.
Ron is survived by his sisters-in-law; Delores Osweiler and Marilyn Osweiler, nieces Nancy (Peter) Schreier, Paula (Dennis) Baus, Patty Osweiler (Rick Bilskemper), Terri (Dick) Roberts, Amy Murray (Bill Mitchell), Kathy (Jim) La Sarge and Kelly (Bob) Geary, nephews Jim (Sue) Fried Jr., Curtis (Denice) Osweiler and Corey Osweiler.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his only sister Rita (James) Fried, brothers; Robert, Raymond and Richie Osweiler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at St. James the Less Catholic Parish, 1032 Caledonia Street, La Crosse. Monsignor Robert Hundt will be the celebrant. Private family Entombment will follow. Visitation will be from 9:30 am-11:00 am at the church.
Seland Funeral Home, Coon Valley, is assisting Ron's family in their time of loss. Ron's family would like to give a special thank you to the Angels and Saints of 7th Floor Mayo and the Mayo Hospice Team for their wonderful attention to Ron.
