RoseMarie "Rosie" C. LeJeune

RoseMarie Catherine “Rosie” LeJeune, 90, of Coon Valley passed away peacefully at home Thursday, September 24, 2020 with her family by her side.

Rosie was born on the family farm October 27, 1929 to Frank and Orma (Elsen) Mlsna. She was born the third of four children.  Growing up she hoed corn on the family farm and spent many happy days with her siblings.  She married William “Bill” LeJeune on November 11, 1947 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse.  Their first home was a farm on Hwy. 14 and later moved to North Ridge.  They farmed there for 25 years before retiring to Coon Valley.  She was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Parish in Coon Valley. She enjoyed family functions, card playing, and of course trips to the casino.

She is survived by her children, Sandra (John) Ritter, Michael (Diane) LeJeune, Francis (Carol) LeJeune, Marvin (Debra) LeJeune, Sharon (Steve) Tarpening, Jean LeJeune, Joan LeJeune, Mark LeJeune and Peggy LeJeune; her 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and one sister Ettie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill”; 2 sons, Frank and Dennis; a grandson, Allen; a brother, Bernard; a sister Cecelia; sister-in-law, Phyllis and brothers-in-law, Bernard and Eugene.

The family would like to thank the Mayo Hospice Care Unit for their help and support during the last weeks of her life.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday September 30, 2020 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley.  Please wear a mask.  A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Coon Valley. Rev. Matt Marshall will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.  Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
