Sally L. Bay

Sally L. Bay, 84, of La Crosse, passed away on February 27, 2024 after a short illness. She was born on February 13, 1940 to Walter and Selma (Manske) Manske. On November 16, 1964 she was united in marriage to Don Bay in Waukon, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with one son and two daughters.

Sally worked at G. Heileman Brewing Company in accounting for many years and retired in 1996. Sally was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. After retiring, Sally spent countless hours with her seven grandchildren and many of her holiday traditions will live on through her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and heading south for the winter. Her favorite pastime in retirement was flower gardening. Neighbors and friends enjoyed her beautiful yard.

Survivors include a son, Randy (Terri) Bay; daughters, Cinda (Jeff) Nelson and Kristine (Dave) Johnson; grandchildren, Sylvia (Eddy) Duryea, Rachel (Ashley) Coble, Heather Bay, Briton (Jade) Nelson, Mack Nelson, Quintin Johnson (fiancé, Cadie Olson) and Barett Johnson; a great granddaughter, Autumn Nelson; a sister, Arlene Wehling and sisters-in-law, Gundi Bay, Sherry Bay and Evelyn Bay.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Bay; 4 brothers, Walter “Stub”, Ronald, Arnold, and Richard “Dick” and a sister, Joyce Lainberger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday March 9, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Rev. Robert Wasserman will officiate with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in La Crosse. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
