Steven Herbert Garlick, 57, of Westby died unexpectedly of a sudden heart attack on February 28, 2020, at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua, Wisconsin.
Steven was born on December 21, 1962 in Viroqua, Wisconsin, to parents Herbert and Margaret (Stalsberg) Garlick. He graduated from Westby Area Schools in 1981. In 1985, Steven graduated from the University of Platteville, Wisconsin, with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona and worked most of his professional career as an Aeronautics Software Engineer. While in Phoenix, he was very active in and devoted to his church community.
Steve was a very social, active man who loved challenging himself. Whether it was remodeling, repairing his own vehicles, hiking through the Grand Canyon or the hills in Arizona, or riding his recumbent bicycle, he always went above and beyond to succeed. He enjoyed visiting with his family and friends and went out of his way to make sure we all knew he was there for us. Steve will always be remembered for his sincere smile, his inquisitive manner, and his thoughtful and helpful ways. Steve was fun loving with a youthful energy. He made many of his outings a big adventure.
Steven is survived by his children, Elizabeth, Olivia, and Samuel of Phoenix, Arizona; his father, Herbert Garlick of Westby, Wisconsin; his brother, Kenneth (Sarah) Garlick of Westby; and his sisters, Lynda Garlick; Teri (William) Buros; and Marlene (Daniel) Prestien; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Garlick and his brother Richard.
We are all saddened by his sudden death. Steven will be greatly missed.
