Terry L. "Nellie" Nelson 65

Terry L. "Nellie" Nelson, 65, of Coon Valley died Sunday January 19, 2014 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse following a battle with cancer. He was born November 2, 1948 in La Crosse to Layton and Betty (Johnson) Nelson.

Nellie worked at G. Heileman Brewing Co. for 27 years and then operated Nellie's Ten Mile House for the next 11 years. He later worked for 7 years at Designz Inc. and South Ridge Inn.

Survivors include his wife Marcie; a daughter Tracy (Matt) Stellner and a son Troy (Lindsay) Nelson; 5 grandchildren, Macy, Mackenzie, Livvy, Griffin and Jaxon and his mother Betty all of Coon Valley; his sister Sue (Denny) Dewsnap of DePere; an uncle Michael (Sandy) Nelson and an aunt Delaine Erickson both of La Crosse; nephews Christopher (Robbi) and Nicholas (Lindsey Kreske) Dewsnap and his father-in-law Myron (Marilyn) Helleck.

He was preceded in death by his father Layton "Boob" Nelson on August 30, 2011.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday January 22, 2014 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Mitzi Miyamoto will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.
