Yvonne M. Berg, 77, of rural Coon Valley, died peacefully Wednesday February 4, 2015 at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse surrounded by her family. She was born April 3, 1937 in La Crosse to Deloine and Celia (Halverson) Sennes. Yvonne was baptized, confirmed and raised in Houston, Minnesota where she married Kenneth Berg on October 7, 1961. She worked at the State Bank in La Crosse from 1977 to 1999. She then worked as treasurer of the Coon Valley Lutheran Church for 15 years, retiring in August 2014.
Yvonne was a member of the Coon Valley Lutheran Church, WELCA and North Ridge Circle and the Coon Valley American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, playing Bunko with friends, baking and cooking for family and spending time with her grandchildren. Yvonne shared her quilting and knitting passion by giving away countless quilts, lap robes and baby blankets through church and missions and anyone in need.
Survivors include her 4 children, Bryan (Linda) of Coon Valley, Cheryl (Tim) Trussoni of Genoa, Darin (Shana) and Scott (Sherri) both of Coon Valley; 11 grandchildren Dalton, McKenzie and Spencer Berg, Kaitlyn and Jessica Trussoni, Jacob and Kenny Berg and Lauren, Sam, Jayda and Ava Berg; a brother Virgil Sennes of La Crosse; a brother-in-law John Jr. "Jack" (Shirley) Berg of Coon Valley; sisters-in-law Joyce (Marv) Temp of Coon Valley, Mary Elsen of La Crosse, and Rachel Berg of Coon Valley; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth on June 17, 2010; a brother Gary Sennes; a sister Deanna Carson; a niece Shari Berg; and two brother-in-laws, David Elsen and Richard Berg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday February 10, 2015 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Mitzi Miyamoto will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. The family will be making a donation to the Bethel Buttik Food Pantry in lieu of sending individual thank you's. Memorials may be given to Gundersen Hospice, Coon Valley American Legion Auxiliary or the Coon Valley Lutheran Church.Visits: 8
