Seland Funeral Home is a family-run business with a rich history and an excellent reputation. We were established in the 1880s by Edward Olson, who advertised “furniture, carpets, sewing machines and undertaking.” It was common for furniture companies of that time to combine undertaking with their business. In 1933, Gust Gilbertson became the proprietor and operated it until 1965, when it was purchased by DeVerne Seland. DeVerne operated the funeral home along with Seland’s Home Furnishings and Flooring. This was later split into two separate companies—Seland’s Karpetland, owned by son Tim and Seland Funeral Home, owned by son Mark. Furniture was phased-out in 2004, and the funeral home was expanded and enhanced to better-serve families.
Nestled in a beautiful, scenic valley, Seland Funeral Home has a uniqueness that surpasses the bigger cities’ funeral homes. We serve the entire area and offer personal, one-on-one relationships with our family of clients. There is no rush with planning, and families receive special, caring attention.
